Discover a season with the Ensemble Music Society, shaped by defining moments: exciting debuts, dazzling virtuosity and masterpieces by beloved composers woven throughout.

We celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with our nation at the center of the inspiration for our opening concert. The program will feature Charles Ives, an American original and descendent of Connecticut colonists, Erich Korngold, a gifted classical and Oscar winning film composer, and Dvořák, the renowned Czech composer, who wrote his “American” Quartet while enjoying the of summer of 1893 in Spillville, Iowa.

Throughout the season our programs will explore works by American composers George Frederick McKay, Kevin Puts, Juri Seo, and Philip Glass. You will also be treated to masterpieces by Haydn, Puccini, Shostakovich, and Schubert, whose String Quintet in C Major is frequently regarded as one of the greatest pieces of chamber music work.
